Your Radio Halesowen Town Team
Frank Williams.
Born in Hereford in 1951, Frank was a teacher in Sandwell from 1972 to 2000. He has lived in Halesowen for over 30 years and owned and operated a successful recording studio in Dudley until 2016.
He has been Station Manager of Radio Hereford FC for 8 years. Mobility issues and travelling distances have led to his decision to step away from Radio Hereford FC and seek a new challenge.
Matthew Ponter.
A freelance Sports Journalist, with a BA Honours degree in Sports Journalism, Matt graduated from Solent University, Southampton in 2020. He has followed Halesowen Town since 2014 when he became commentator for Yeltz TV. He went on to commentate for Walsall FC, before turning freelance at the age of just 17. He returned to Halesowen in 2023, spending the previous two years working with Frank, at Radio Hereford FC. He is also the Senior Commentator for Wolverhampton Wanderers Women FC.
Why Radio Halesowen Town?
Frank and Matt have worked together for a few years and the two have decided to set up a new Internet Radio Station for Halesowen Town FC and the wider community using Frank’s radio and technical experience and Matt’s broadcasting skills.
The station will cover every Halesowen First Team fixture live, plus a round-up of all the local Sports Clubs and Community Events.
Other Sports Clubs will be featured live when possible.
The station will also broadcast a 24/7 music output covering all genres and every decade from the 60’s.
All music output is covered by the necessary PRS and PPS licences.
